Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a great way to support Hawaiʻi Children’s Action Network. When you recommend a donation to us from your DAF, we’ll receive a check directly from the financial institution.

Please notify us if you recommend a grant from a donor-advised fund to Hawaiʻi Children’s Action Network. We want to make sure we thank you and record your gift correctly. (The check we receive from your fund may not contain your name or contact information.)

What is a donor-advised fund?

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized vehicle for charitable giving that makes it easy for donors to dedicate funds to support their favorite nonprofit organization. It also provides an operationally convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving.

With a DAF, charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses make an irrevocable gift to a public charity that sponsors a donor-advised fund program and may take an immediate tax deduction. To learn more about donor advised funds, click here.
