Children and Youth Day 2018

We are hosting a fun and engaging table at Hawaii Children and Youth Day, an event recognizing the potential and special gifts of our keiki (children) and ‘opio (youth). Come join us if you want to have a great time with keiki and their families, while learning about the most critical issues facing children and families in Hawaii!

Table Volunteer Duties

-Engage event attendees alongside staff and fellow volunteers

-Run various activities with keiki and their families

-Take photos

-Pass out resources

-Set up/Clean up

-Have fun!!!

BEFORE SIGNING UP, YOU SHOULD KNOW...

-There is no secure storage for volunteer belongings. Please only bring items that you can carry on your person or fit under the table.

-You may be asked to stand for an extended period of time.

-A volunteer t-shirt will be given to you at the event.

-The event will provide water stands, so please bring a reusable water bottle, if possible.

Qualifications: No background knowledge or experience required. Anyone who is high-energy and likes to interact with children and their families is welcome!

Time Commitment: Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 9 AM – 12:30 PM or 12:30-4 PM HST.

Training/Support Provided: No training required aside from event training provided on the day of the event during set-up. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator for additional support.

Benefits: Breakfast, lunch and parking will be provided for volunteers. HCAN T-shirt will be provided. An opportunity to learn about how HCAN advocates for keiki and their families and the different campaigns we have participated in and are planning for the next policy season.
