Child Tax Credit Navigator Training

Live, virtual training for Hawaiʻi community organizations
Wednesday, Oct 20, 2021 | 3:30-4:30 pm

Learn to become a Child Tax Credit Navigator through this virtual training by Code For America, specially organized for Hawaiʻi organizations. Around 10% of eligible families aren’t getting the Child Tax Credit because they haven’t filed federal taxes. But it’s not too late for them to receive upcoming advance payments (of up to $300/month/child). As a Navigator, you can help them access this important benefit.

This training will cover:

1. The Navigator role
2. How to determine a client's next steps
3. GetCTC.org's simplified tax filing portal and best practices
5. How to use your Navigator resources

In addition, navigators will be able to seek continued support through GetCTC's biweekly Q&A sessions.

Code for America launched the GetCTC simplified tax filing portal to give more families access to the Child Tax Credit and other tax benefits. Recognizing that even the best technology will not reach everyone, Code for America is also working with trusted community-based organizations that work in multiple languages and serve as navigators to help more non-filers in underserved communities successfully access the portal and receive the tax benefits they are due.

The training will be recorded.
