Native Hawaiian Community Leads Way to Improve Oral Health Statewide

December 2, 2019 - There is very little data available on Native Hawaiian oral health needs but there is evidence of disparities for Native Hawaiians in oral health outcomes and access to care for children between the ages of 0-5 and older,  

The Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems, Papa Ola Lōkahi, community partners, and other Native Hawaiian service organizations have worked together on the report, The E Ola Mau a Mau – the next generation of Native Hawaiian health, to assess the progress of improving health for the Native Hawaiian community. Hawaii Children's Action Network joined the E Ola Mau a Mau Oral Health Task Group and helped provide research and findings alongside the Hawaii Public Health Institute’s Hawaii Oral Health Coalition. DentaQuest supported both organizations' efforts for oral health advancement in Hawaii.
