Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Policy Fellowship

Now Accepting Applications: HCAN Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Policy Fellowship

Are you passionate about improving maternal and child health in Hawai‘i? Do you want to help shape policies that support birthing people, keiki, and families? The Hawai‘i Children’s Action Network (HCAN) is now accepting applications for the inaugural Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Policy Fellowship for the 2025-2026 program year!

With maternal mortality and morbidity rates rising across the U.S.—particularly among strategically marginalized communities—the need for strong, equity-driven policies has never been greater. In Hawai‘i, the high cost of living creates additional challenges in accessing essential health care, social services, and economic support. The MCH Policy Fellowship will equip emerging leaders with the knowledge, skills, and experience to drive meaningful policy change that improves the health and well-being of Hawai‘i’s families.

About the Fellowship:

Focus Areas: Expanding access to family planning and reproductive health care, addressing social determinants of health, and advancing policies that improve maternal and child health outcomes.

What You’ll Gain: Hands-on experience in policy research, development, and advocacy; mentorship from experts in the field; and opportunities to engage with key stakeholders in shaping maternal and child health policy.

Who Should Apply: Professionals, advocates, and emerging leaders committed to strengthening maternal and child health in Hawai‘i through policy and systemic change.

Join us in making a difference for Hawai‘i’s families and keiki!
