Star Advertiser - Nonprofits urge lawmakers to quickly commit federal funds to cope with social needs

June 16, 2020 - The state legislature is reconvening in less than a week and Hawaii's local non-profit organizations are urging lawmakers to commit unspent federal money to support programs for families struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Working Families Coalition released a plan to distribute $362 million including CARES Act funds “to help families with rent and mortgages, food, health care, child care, domestic violence response, kupuna wellness checks, and more.”
