You have benefits worth thousands of dollars. File a federal tax return as soon as possible to get them.

The three stimulus payments are worth up to $3,200 for individuals and $2,500 for children and other dependents.

Plus, the child tax credit enables you to automatically receive up to $300 per month per child, starting in July. By next year, you could receive up to $3,600 per child under age 6, and $3,000 per child age 6-17.

• You can file for free and only need basic information. This can be done via smartphone or computer.

• A permanent address is not required. You can use the address of a friend, family member, shelter, etc.

• You can get these via direct deposit or have a check mailed to you.

• Even if you have a low income, or don’t owe income taxes, you can still get this new child tax credit. Only one of the parents with joint custody can claim each child.
